The outrage and criticism around nepotism has always been chaotic. Adding fuel to the fire from the last few weeks is Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, which, as per netizens, is a result of him getting isolated by the industry bigwigs and star kids. As a consequence of the same, various Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt among others have been at the receiving end of backlash, so much so, that a few of have also disabled their comments and replies, while a streak of celebs have quit social media. Now, it looks like Alia Bhatt has finally broken her silence on all the negativity.
Taking to her Instagram, the Raazi actor shared the good news of being invited by the Academy to attend and be a part of the coveted award show. The actor has also received the invitation by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to be a member, which allows her to vote for the next Oscars. In her post, Alia thanked the esteemed award show for giving her the opportunity, while also not missing a chance to share her thoughts on getting so much hatred on the internet in regards to nepotism.
The last few lines of her long note read, “In a world that can be unsure and fragmented, at a time when the very social media that is meant to connect people ends up dividing them, movies are the glue that binds us.”
